Imphal, August 24 2014:
Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has said that it would commence door-to-door survey to check whether the non-locals residing in the State have proper and valid identification documents from tomorrow.
Speaking at a press conference held at its office, JCILPS convenor Ibotombi Khuman reiterated that the ongoing agitation would continue till ILPS is implemented in the State.
Urging the house owners to consult local Meira Paibi bodies and clubs and check identification documents before giving room/house on rent to non-locals, Ibotombi Khuman said that JCILPS would take serious note against those officials who issue domicile certificates to non-locals without checking the details.
Taking part at the press conference, JCILPSWW convenor L Nganbi said that they had already started verification of identities of non-locals at Ima Keithel and Paona Bazar.
Saying that JCILPSWW had resolved to prevent entry of non-locals who do not possess valid identity cards, L Nganbi also urged the transporters not to bring in non-locals to the State.
Maintaining that the all political party forum has not shown any progress, Nganbi also alleged that functioning of the forum is not transparent and has lots of ambiguity.
