Gaidinliu's birth centenary celebration at Delhi today

New Delhi, January 21 2016:
The
opening event of a year-long
celebration of Rani Gaidinliu's
indomitable spirit on her birth
centenary with a cultural festival
will be held in New Delhi
tomorrow.
The centenary
celebration with the theme,
"Celebrating the Indomitable
Spirit of Rani Gaidinliu" is being
organized by Rani Gaidinliu
Birth Centenary cum
Indigenous Cultural Festival
Organizing Committee under
the aegis of the Zeliangrong
Welfare Association Delhi
(ZWAD) and Zeliangrong
Students' Union, Delhi (ZSUD).
The event will be graced by
Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister
for Communication and Information
Technology as the chief
guest.
PB Acharya (Governor
of Nagaland), Dr Jitendra
Singh, (Minister of DoNER)
and TR Zeliang (CM,
Nagaland) will be the guests of
honour.
A seminar on "state, society
and nationalism " will also be
held the next day as a part of
the event, where various scholars
and prominent personalities
from North East will deliberate
upon the relevance of Rani
Gaidinliu in contemporary society.
Member of Parliament
(Rajya Sabha) Tarun Vijay is
also expected to be part of the
panellists.
According to the organizing
committee cultural troops from
all the North Eastern States will
present cultural shows depicting
the rich cultural heritage of
the people from North East
India.
The event will also witness
cultural presentation from
other parts of the country.
