Teachers and students of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences bade a tear farewell to Dr Chow Sependra Hopak, an VIII semester student of the Institute, who met with a tragic end yesterday when the country boat carrying three students capsized at Loktak Lake drowning Dr Hopak of Arunachal.
According to a release issued by Media Advisor of RIMS, a condolence meeting presided by RIMS Director Prof L Fimate was held at the Mini Auditorium during which the Director called for introspection as the incident was the third of its kind to hit the Institute.
Apart from other speakers recalling the seraphic personality of Dr Hopak all present during the condolence meeting paid floral tribute to the departed soul.
Conveying gratitude to Thanga Heisnam villagers for their cooperation and effort in retrieving Dr Hopak's body from the Lake, the statement informed of the body being taken
to Nampong village of Arunachal Pradesh for the last rites.
