Imphal, October 03 2026:
Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board vice president and Keirao AC MLA Lourembam Rameshwor has said that the Government is working to develop infrastructure at Lainingthou Sanamahi Shanglen, Haying Khongbal Uphong Yumpham to ease inconveniences caused by the rising number of devotees.
He was speaking on the sidelines of Langban Chara Tamba ritual observed at the shrine today.
The MLA said the number of devotees visiting daily for prayers and 'chaklen katpa' is increasing steadily as more people repose faith in Lainingthou Sanamahi.
With over 1,500 plates of meals being offered daily, the shrine is facing acute space shortage, he said, adding that a request has been made to the Government to look into the matter and efforts are also on to resolve parking issues faced by visitors.
On the occasion, prayers were offered at the Shanglen and meals served to devotees and local residents in connection with the 25th birthday of Katherine Yumnam, daughter of CM Yumnam Khemchand.
Rameshwor said it would be a good practice for people to celebrate their children's birthdays at such sacred places by offering prayers and serving food to the needy.
