Training / input distribution programme ends

A 7 Days Training cum Input Distribution Programme on "Entrepreneurship Development through Scientific Agricultural, Livestock and Poultry Farming for Upliftment of Livelihood of Scheduled Caste Farmers' of Manipur" concludedatCollegeof Agriculture (CoA), Central Agricultural University (C AU), Iroisemba today.
The training programme was organised by the CoA, CAU, Imphal under SCSP Component of ICAR funded project-" Strengthening for development of Higher Agricultural Education in India" aimed on scientific and advance techniques in agriculture and allied activities for livelihood security of Scheduled Caste farmers of Manipur, said a release issued by CAU Imphal.
The valedictory function was attended by Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal; Prof L Nabachandra Singh, Department of Agronomy, CoA, CAU, Imphal; Prof Ak Bijaya Devi, Department of Horticulture, COA, CAU, Imphal; and Prof Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction & Dean, COA, CAU, Imphal as presidium members.
Prof Ng Piloo, organising secretary and Professor, Department of Horticulture, CoA, Iroisemba welcomed the dignitaries and gave a brief report of the training programme which covered various aspects on Cropping patterns, Integrated farming system based on Agriculture, Livestock, Poultry, Fishery, Vermicomposting, Bio-fertilizers, Mushroom spawn production, Propagation techniques of Horticultural Crops with practical and exposure visits.
A total of 42 numbers of SC farmers from Andro, Kakching Khunou, Phayeng, Sekmai, Leimaram, Moirang and Khurkhul actively participated in the programme.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr M Norjit, Assistant Prof, Department of Animal Sciences, CoA, CAU, Imphal.
