Imphal, October 22 2013:
The proscribed UNLF has refuted any connection whatsoever between the outfit and Nongbram of Patsoi Part II as well as with Litpa alias Amuthoi of Umathel.
Nongbram was apprehended by 18th Sikh Regiment from his locality and Litpa alias Amuthoi was pulled up by a combined team of Thoubal police and 27th AR from Umathel a few days back.
A press lease issued by the outfit's publicity officer M Sak-Hen maintained that the outfit's service record book has no one by the name of Nongbram or Litpa alias Amuthoi.
Service numbers, batch numbers and years given to them were not matching.
Moreover, UNLF has nothing to do with the arms reportedly recovered from the duo.
Further reacting to the press statement issued by Hqs IG AR (S) and published in local media on October 21 about the arrest of Sanatomba by a combined team of 27th AR and 18th Sikh Regiment from near St Mary Senior Secondary School, Patsoi Part II, the outfit clarified that Sanatomba is not Lieutenant but a private.
He was on leave for medical since January this year and since then, he was not entrusted any task of the outfit.
Moreover, arms reportedly recovered from his possession do not belong to UNLF/MPA, it added.
