Campaign ends with positive public response in Ukhrul

Curtain of the three-day Bharat Nirman Campaign in Ukhrul was downed today.
Highlighting and dissemination of information regarding the various national flagship programmes to the public marked the three-day programme at Multi-Purpose Hall, Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul.
The valedictory function of the campaign, held this afternoon, was graced by Tangkhul Theological Association (TTA) president, Dr YL Mingthing; Hungpung village headman AS Peter Wungayung and Wonthing A Shimray, deputy inspector, Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul as the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Addressing the gatherings, the chief guest pointed out that media plays a major role in disseminating information to the public and this role has not been recognized properly in the society.
Earlier, the technical session has presentation on Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Mid Day Meal and Right to Information from officials of concerned departments of the district.
The campaign organized rally, exhibition, public address, magic show, drama, songs and cultural items to disseminate information relating to national flagship programmes.
The three-day programme was attended by children from different schools, representatives of social organizations, NGOS and members of the public.
In the entire three-day campaign, the Songs and Drama Division, Imphal entertained the audiences with their performances.
The organisers also gave away memento, certificates and prizes to various departments involved in
the three-day campaign.
The Government departments from various blocks, NGOs and societies from different parts of the district took part in the programme.
The Bharat Nirman Campaign was organised by the Press and Information Bureau, Imphal in collaboration with Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), Department of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Song and Drama Division, All India Radio, Doordarshan and district administration Ukhrul.
