'Avoid excessive pressure on private schools'

CCpr, September 28 2026: Stating that private schools in Manipur have been taking major responsibility in shaping students into valuable members of society under new education policies, the All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has appealed for positive suggestions instead of unnecessary criticism and pressure on the private education sector.

In a statement, AMRPSWA said private institutions should not indulge in activities that put education in bad light.

Every educational institution must have adequate infrastructure and qualified teachers, maintain proper student-teacher ratio, and provide a conducive learning environment, it added.

It said teachers should be given better facilities and equipped with modem teaching tools.

Schools should maintain regular communication with guardians to correct behavioural changes in students and ensure benefits of private school education are properly delivered.

Appealing to schools to fix fees according to facilities provided and not charge excessive fees considering the present situation in the State, the association also urged BOSEM and COHSEM not to charge excessive fees and fines.

It further appealed to the Department not to exert excessive pressure through frequent notices and orders which disturb the teachingleaming process.

The association said all.

stakeholders in the education sector should know their responsibilities and the Education Department which regulates the sector should monitor properly for growth of the sector.

AMRPSWA said it is ready to take up responsibilities to strengthen the education sector and will welcome positive suggestions from the public.
