Imphal, October 20 2014:
The Ethnical Socio Cultural Organisation advisor LS Guite has appealed ATSUM to revoke its proposed indefinite blockade of the National Highways which is set to start from midnight of October 21 considering the approaching Ningol Chakkouba festival.
Addressing a press meet held at the office of Manipur Ethnical Social Cultural Organisation, Sega Road jointly with Manipur Nath Kanba Lup, All Manipur Art and Culture Students' Association and Manipur State Shumang Leela Council today, LS Guite said that Manipur is a multi-ethnic State and it would be a grave mistake to call an indefinite blockade at the time of one of the biggest festivals of the State.
This would only result in creating a big animosity among the different communities of the State.
President of AMESCO Sh Nando said, AMESCO has been working tirelessly to bring communal harmony and peace with respect to all communities.
He further appealed to all the communities not to work for personal gain and fame.
The Manipur Nath Kanba Lup, All Manipur Art and Culture Students Union and Manipur State Shumang Leela Council have appealed to call off the blockade which is set to start from midnight of October 21 .
