Wangoo Laipham PHC observes 46th foundation day

Wangoo Laipham Primary Health Centre (PHC) observed its 46th foundation day at the conference hall of the Centre today.
The event was organised by the Hospital Management Committee of Wangoo Laipham PHC and witnessed the attendance of L Sharat alias Tona Meetei, Committee chairman; L Inaocha, MO in-charge, Wangoo Laipham PHC; L Khelchandra, Committee advisor; A Maimu, Committee advisor and doctors, nurses, lab technicians, para medical staff working at Wangoo Laipham PHC as well as nurses and ANM engaged with Health and Wellness Centres under the PHC.
Speaking in this connection, L Inaocha said that despite shortage of staff, the PHC performs beyond the assigned duties of a primary health centre as many patients with different ailments and medical needs visit the Centre.
While sending detailed reports of the medical tasks performed at the PHC, they send accurate reports which depict the Centre performing more than the usual workload for a PHC, he maintained.
On another note, the PHC faces many difficulties in organising the programmes expected from the Centre as a result, he added.
Addressing the staff shortage at the PHC, he appealed for the appointment of two ASHA Workers to carry out the important tasks of collecting population information and data of pregnant women, among others.
Meanwhile, L Sharat urged all doctors, nurses and other medical staff at the PHC to dedicate themselves sincerely to the service of humanity with a spirit of sacrifice.
During the event, three staff members of the PHC were awarded simple gifts in honour of their dedicated and excellent service.
Additionally, a simple gift was also presented to Th Dhamen, Hospital Management Committee for his remarkable efforts to develop the PHC.
