Dimapur, October 04 2016:
Reacting sharply to the recent statement of the United Committee Manipur (UCM), the NSCN-IM said today that "the statement and pressure" being put up by the former shows that it is "deadly" against a peaceful solution of the Nagas.
According to the NSCN-IM, the Indo-Naga ceasefire is a bilateral agreement between the Government of India (Gol) and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) .
"The so called Manipur State being part of India, you are also part of India whether you like it or not.
The issue is between India and Nagas", the NSCN-IM stated.
"It is unfortunate that the UCM is reacting and threatened a public uprising against the release of three NSCN cadres detained by the 35th Assam Rifles at Senapati on September 28," the NSCN-IM said.
It also said that the three "Naga army" personnel were detained under "wild allegations" and were released as they were proved "innocent" who did not commit any crime at all.
"It is ironic that UCM which is always for the removal of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) from the so called Manipur State, on the other hand totally oppose the ceasefire between NSCN and Gol.
What logic is this ?," the NSCN-IM asked, adding, "certainly UCM is a house of contradiction.
At one point they speak that there is no ceasefire and on the other hand they talk about violation of ceasefire ground rules by the NSCN in Manipur" .
"The ceasefire has nothing to do with the Meiteis.
The UCM should not panic as we do not ask the land of the Meiteis but ask Nagas' ancestral land,"it added.
