Imphal, Sep 04:
The All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has strongly condemned the alleged excesses of the Indian security forces including allegations levelled against killed innocent persons that the individual was an UG cadre, that arms were recovered from him and that the individual was killed in encounter etc and all other forms of gross violation of human rights.
AMUCO conveyed strong condemnation against the killing of Longjam Surjit by troops of 22 Maratha LI on August 31 when he went to herd in his horse and flayed the attempt of the security forces to justify their actions by accusing Surjit of being a UG cadre.
A statement issued by AMUCO noted with serious concern such accusations made against innocent persons of being UG cadres after killing them.
It observed that false accusations have become a phenomenon in Manipur.
Security forces have quite accustomed to handing over death persons to police stations along with fabricated reports claiming that those persons were killed in encounter and that arms were recovered.
