KRA refutes DGP's allegation

Kangpokpi, April 26 2017: In a late reaction to the 'allegations' of the State DGP that the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) was involved in the April 18 attack on a convoy of oil tankers, the outfit has rejected the same and demanded a clarification.

Reacting strongly against the DGP's statement, the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), a SoO signatory under the banner of KNO denied, its involvement in the attack and censured the allegation against the outfit as baseless and false.

T Simte, the outfit's information and publicity secretary claimed that KRA never indulge in any anti-so-cial activities which are against the SoO ground rules more particularly along the National Highway 2 before and at present and will never engage in such activities in future too as "we are committed to the ground rules" .

He clarified that KRA is not involved in the abduction of Deputy Ranger, Forest Department and has no connection whatsoever with any non-SoO groups including KCP (Lanheiba) as alleged by the State DGP.

The outfit further clarified that it is not involved in any IED blast, detention of vehicles, abduction of drivers, extortion of money from transporters at Hengbung check post, firing at Satyam Industry and firing at passenger vehicles adding that there were falsely alleged by the DGP.

The false and baseless allegation of the DGP is shocking and alarming more particularly when Kangleipak Communist Party People's War Group has claimed its hand over the incident for reasons best known to them.

The DGP's allegation came before the Kangleipak Communist Party People's War Group claimed hands in the incident.

"Though unfortunate, the outfit is compelled to question the mental capability of the State Police Department and the reliability of its inputs and sources", said Simte and asked as to why the State police chief was levelling such heinous and false allegation on the outfit.

KRA also demanded a clarification from the DGP.

Earlier, the Kangleipak Communist Party People's War Group also denied the DGP's claim and allegation stating that the DGP's claim about the involvement of the KRA in the oil tanker ambush was "baseless" .
