In their ongoing effort to help poor students, the Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) under its academic campaign of Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamshi, text books were distributed to 76 students of Keikhu yesterday, informed a press release issued by MSF.
The book distribution function was organised by the Young Star Sporting Union of Keikhu.
MSF Thangmeiband Branch also helped 45 students of class I to VII with text books yesterday.
In a similar function today at Samurou Bazar, the Mayai Lambi Branch of MSF distributed text books to 165 poor students of the area.
The book distribution function was attended by MSF general secretary Ananta Chongtham and secretary finance G Pouhomlung.
So far MSF has helped 2629 students by providing text books free of cost.
The MSF also conveyed its sincere gratitude to local clubs/organisations of different localities for providing MSF with lists of poor and helpless students.
It further appealed to the people and the local clubs to help MSF make its academic campaign Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamshi a grand success as and when MSF take the campaign all across the State.
The student body also thanked all individuals/organisations for their invaluable help towards its campaign.
The MSF release further informed that its Lamlong Branch was opened today .
Ayam Devananda was elected president and Leihaorungbam Ranjit as general secretary.
Moreover 7 other executive members of the MSF Lamlong Branch were also appointed during the meeting presided by MSF head office vice-president Md Atabuddin.
