The 8th Grant College Week celebration of Don Bosco College, Maram has began from today along with a scintillating opening ceremony of dance and music.
Inaugural of the newly constructed road and bridge leading to the college, marchpast parade and presentation of dances of various communities on one common rhythm were the main attractions of the inaugural function of the college week.
Deputy Commissioner of Senapati District Dr Prem Singh, IAS and vice principal of SDB, Dimapur Rev Fr Nestor Goreya attended the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Prem appreciated the dance performance of the students and said it would help in protecting our common identity.
Expressing hope that there would be healthy competition among the students over the next seven days of the college week celebration, the district administrator assured every possible assistance from his side for the welfare of the Bosconians.
Dr Prem also conveyed that greetings and wishes of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and other Ministers and MLAs who could not attend the function.
CO of 22 AR Col VS Malik, CO of 36 AR Col CB Singh, Executive Engineer of GREF Major AB Singh, SDO Tadubi Ashok and EE of State PWD Department Lunglien and other public leaders were present at the occasion.
