Former Minister joins BJP

Imphal, December 02, 2014: Former MLA K Tomba who was elected from Khundrakpam A/C and went on to hold a ministerial berth and Chandel ADC Member PS Johnson Anal have joined BJP and their memberships have been approved by the party's State unit president Th Chaoba.

A felicitation function in honour of the new members was held today at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek.

Speaking at the gathering, Th Chaoba said that the party has started preparations for the Assembly election likely to be held in 2017. BJP would field candidates in all Assembly segments as well as in district council constituencies for which elections would be held after some months, Chaoba stated.

After the party's mass enrolment drive was launched by BJP president Amit Shah on November 1 last at Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party's State unit has also been successfully undertaking the enrolment drive.

The State unit has already set a target of enrolling one lakh members by March 2015.Altogether 75,000 membership forms have been taken by voters belonging to the 20 Assembly constituencies of hill districts.

At the same time, maximum efforts are being invested to enrol at least 100 members in each polling station of the valley Assembly segments and five active members in each polling station by March next year, Chaoba added.
