Senapati, October 14 2021: In a revolting incident, a 6 year old girl was sexually assaulted on October 13 morning at River colony Senapati DHQ by one man identified as Rajen Pou s/o Pozii of Purul Rosiifii village under Purul sub-division, Senapati district Manipur.

The accused person was arrested by Senapati women police on October 14 under POCSO Act.

Police sources informed that the accused person would be produced before the Court on October 15 .

As per the details of the FIR (FIR no 3 (10) 2021 WPS -Spt U/S 8 POCSO Act, 2021), the incident happened on October 13 morning around 7 at River colony Senapati DHQ.

Mother of the victim stated that on October 12, her daughter (victim) went to her aunt's place to sleep over night and the accused being an acquaintance visited the aunt's place and when the victim went to fetch water from the front yard while her aunt was cooking, took the minor child inside the bedroom and committed the crime.

The victim's mother added that on hearing the loud cry of her minor daughter, her elder sister ran inside the room and found the victim sexually abused by the said accused.

When her elder sister shouted at the accused person he immediately fled the place.

The victim's mother lodged an FIR at women police station Senapati DHQ for necessary action against the accused in accordance with the POCSO Act of 2012 .
