Visiting Imphal and other operational units deployed in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh after assuming the charge for the first time, Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) SIS Ahmed, IPS today addressed the officers and sub-ordinate staff during a Sainik Sammelan at Group Centre, Imphal here today.
In his address, the DG said that the CRPF being the largest Central Para Military Force in the country is performing its duties in all the trouble-torn parts of the country with courage, conviction and patriotism.
Its unique ability to adapt itself to any given situation with confidence is because of its training and discipline.
The officers and men of CRPF are working under very difficult conditions are indeed doing a commendable job in maintaining the internal security in the entire State of Manipur which is highly disturbed, he said, while expressing desire to do best and continue to evolve and improve for setting up new standards with the aim to optimise operational capabilities.
He apprised the men that he is well aware of the various problems being faced by them specially undertaking journey while proceeding on leave/duty from North East and J & K, non-availability of proper accommodation/housing, HRA to each personnel, better pay scale to Head Constable/other ranks and delay in promotion from the rank of Constable to Head Constable.
He also informed that all these matters have already been taken up with the Government.
The DG desired regular interaction with men at Coy level and prompt redressal of their grievances.
Apart from calling on Governor Dr SS Sidhu and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, the DG also visited the 50-bedded Composite Hospital, Family Welfare Centre and witnessed demonstration on ultra fit training.
He also commended on the overall performance of Manipur and Nagaland sector operationally as well as administratively under the able guidance of IGP Manipur and Nagaland Sector SK Jain.
Additional DG, East Zone Kolkata NR Das, IPS and IG (Ops) General, CRPF, New Delhi AP Maheshwari, IPS accompanied the him during the visit.
