Accusing the State Government of 'breach of agreement' with regard to the MoU signed on January, 2004, Manipur Secretariat Services Association has threatened to resume its agitation if the Government do not give a positive and immediate response to their demands.
As per the MoU signed between the Government of Manipur represented by Chief Secretary AP Sharma, Commissioner (Finance) VK Thakral and Commissioner (GAD) and representatives of Manipur Secretariat Services Association, MSDA, MSGEU on January 6 last, it was agreed that pay anomalies would be rectified within two months of signing the MoU, non-functional scale of pay for every grade would be reviews and there would be provision of selection of grade scale of pay in respect of Grade-IV employees who are in regular service for 15 years in the grade among others, but the Government has not taken up any step for translating the MoU into action.
Association secretary Nandakumar Moirangthem rued in a statement.
Taking serious note of the indifferent attitude of the Government towards its demand during a meeting held yesterday, the Association has also resolved to resume the agitation if the Government do not give an immediate response from the Government on the issue.
Meanwhile, Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organization (AMGEO), while flaying the State Government for not implementing the MoU signed with it has resolved to launch various forms of agitation soon after the process of forthcoming Lok Sabha election is over.
