KNF-N resolves to boycott I-Day

Imphal, August 13 2014 : The Kuki National Front-Nehlun (KNF-N) is all set to boycott the Indian Independence Day celebration 2014 in the entire Hill districts of Manipur.

Boycotting of the I-Day will be done separately on our might and strength excluding the CorCom (conglomerate of Manipur based militant outfits) or the collective bandh called by North East insurgent groups said a press release issue by KNF-N information and publicity secretary, Gogou Vaiphei.

"The bandh will commence from the evening of August 14 till the dusk of 15.This practice will be carried out until and unless the Government of Manipur paves the way for the creation of Kukiland" in letter and spirit.

"We demand our legitimate birth rights of a separate Kuki state permissible under the Constitutions of India, through arms struggle, since the government had sidelined the Kuki national movement peacefully through non-violence initiated by Kuki National Assembly (KNA) set up way back in the 1960s for the political solutions and rights" added the press release.

It is a universal known fact that the Kukis, though the greatest nation among the tribes, were divided by the British Colonial Authority prior to Independence into three countries without consulting their will, thus making them the smallest nation in their respective settled countries, i..eIndia, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

"Therefore, we ourselves should sacrifice our life to regain the lost territory of Kuki inhabited areas and transform them into one nation and one administration by crushing the Constitution of India and the provisional boundaries of the tri-nations of South East Asia" .

The total-bandh will be strictly enforced in all district roads, state and national highways maintain the release.

"We urge all to co-operate for the same to avoid any untoward incident which will be of their own risk and responsibility if violated" warned KNF-N who are not under SoO tripartite.

And, as far as the cases of Haolenphai and Haraothel is concern, KNF-N oppose the Government decision tooth and nail as it is a great sign of indirectly insulting the prestige of the Kukis and its custom & traditional integrity.

We will move forward according to the wishes of the people and will never compromise on this issue under any circumstances.

Therefore, no activities will be allowed to carry out in these two particular places forcibly.

And if the govt did so should face strongest term of violence else ever in the History of Manipur and the Kuki community added the press release while clarifying that they are not against any development in the state.

Lastly, David Thangboi secretary in-charge of FCS has been re-instated as per the constitution of the outfit that grant suspended cadres be re-instated after six months, provided that they repent from their wrong deeds and vows to work sincerely in future said the press release.
