Imphal, December 02:
Citing severe inconveniences being endured by the general public following imposition of ban on entry of three and four wheelers in Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar, several organisations have urged the State Government to lift the ban in public interest at the earliest.
In view of the large number of people coming for shopping at Imphal from other districts and far off places ahead of the Christmas festival and the difficulties being encountered by wage earners, drivers and shopkeepers, the UCM urged upon the State Government to lift the ban on vehicle entry as soon as possible.
Citing similar reasons, the Nupi Keithel Shemgat Shagatpa Marup has also appealed to the State Government to allow entry of three and four wheelers into Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar as usual.
Urging for the same demand to allow entry of vehicles in Imphal Bazar area, the Passenger Transport Joint Action Committee, Imphal Bazar Area has decided to stage a sit-in-protest on December 5, conveyed a release.
