Imphal, August 08 2010: The banned United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has said that the false propaganda of IOF can not dupe the people of Manipur.

In a press release mailed to the press today, Ksh Yoiheiba, Senior Publicity Officer, UNLF said that in order to suppress the liberation movement of the people of Manipur, the IOF has been using the excessive powers given by AFSA.

Among the methods being used frequently by the IOF in incidents of violation of human rights are � arrest of innocent persons in the name of counter insurgency operations and kill them in fake encounters, then get the bodies dressed in camouflage and place guns near them so that claims can be made that they were killed in encounter.

Then another method is that the IOF arrest those persons, who had worked for one or other revolutionary group for a year or two but deserted the group or surrendered to the IOF because they could not maintain the revolutionary disciplines and principles, and use them as a weapon against the revolutionaries, and form gangs to have them act against the people and the liberation movement to tarnish its image.

When they refuse to do what they are told or their utility is over, they are shot dead; then the IOF claims that they were killed in encounter, Yoiheiba said in his press release.

Then, the IOF deceive innocent youth by telling them that they would be provided employment and take them into their camps, or arrest them, intimidate them, and produce them before mediapersons in a surrender drama after blindfolding them and covering their faces.

However, since people came to know that such so-called surrender ceremonies were fake drama, the IOF propaganda got expose, Yoiheiba said.

He further said that with a view to covering up such acts of violation of human rights and also making the incidents look real, the PRO of IOF has been disseminating false reports through the media.

As a part of such false propaganda which has been going on in series, the IOF's PRO, IG AR (South) has contradicted himself while issuing press releases claiming that Sarangthem Prem @ Lukhoi arrested by them recently is finance secretary of UNLF, then another statement he claimed that the apprehendee worked for Division III, Finance Department.

But what the PRO pretends not to know is that it is impossible to make one truth.by adding up 100 lies, the press release pointed out.

Asserting that there is no camp of UNLF/MPA in Andro Khunou, the Senior Publicity Officer recalled that the family had already categorically affirmed through the media that Prem @ Lukhoi is an innocent person.

Yoiheiba challenged the IG AR (S), if he has the guts, to produce Lukhoi @ Prem before the media and make him disclose the truth, without giving him any fear, whether he is an insurgent or an innocent man.

It will not be possible to befool the people of Manipur any more by enacting surrender drama where the arrested persons are threatened at gun point and force them to say that they laid down arms and surrendered, Yoiheiba said.

Regarding the three persons who were recently arrested in Goa and brought to Imphal yesterday, the Senior Publicity Officer of UNLF, Ksh Yoiheiba informed that Naorem Kaoba @ Manimohon, son of Birchand of Tentha Khunou, said to be a cadre of KCP, was earlier a member of UNLF.

But having no quality of being a true revolutionary and unable to bear hardship, he left the party in 1998, and had been living at home.

However, since he wanted to earn easy money, he got into the company of some unknown groups and started extorting money from people.

When the UNLF began to investigate into the cases of extortions, his involvement was detected.

Then the party started looking for him to give him punishment.

Since then he had been living in hiding, the press release informed.

Regarding Sapam Iboyaima @ Sanatomba, son of Bheigya, Yoiheiba said that while he was in Thoubal district in 2005, he eloped a civilian girl and fled carrying all the money sanctioned for his unit.

Since then he went into hiding.

Both of them are carrying reward of punishment of the party, Yoiheiba said.
