A two-day training program on the cultivation of various types of mushrooms was organized by Rama Foundation, powered by Mrs. Nimnim (Headmistress of Imphal West Central School), and inaugurated by Mrs. Nimnim. Ms. Anjali, Mrs. Sofia, Ms. Sina, Mr. Lansingam. Mr. Khayin, and Mr. Ashang on June 4th and 5th, 2024, at Imphal West Central School, Langthabal, Manipur, India
Training on cultivation of mushroom at Langthabal
The training was made successful with the participation of over 50 individuals, including school staff, students, and other attendees. In the training program, resource person Mr. Soram Raj endra Kumar, a Regional Achiever Awardees, delivered insightful sessions on scientific methods of mushroom cultivation, disease management, identification of poisonous mushrooms, and creating value-added products like pickles and dried mushrooms.
He also covered essential topics on marketing and financial assistance. The sessions were enhanced with the use of slideshows and videos, making the learning experience more engaging and effective.

The primary objective of the program was to empower individuals, particularly students, with valuable skills to generate income and improve their quality of life, promoting self-reliance from a young age.
The program also included a practical field visit to the farm of Mr. Langpoklakpam Ibomcha at Kwakeithel Kongjeng Leikai, where participants learned how to identify and harvest mature mushrooms. At the conclusion of the training, necessary items for mushroom cultivation, such as spawn and cultivation bags, were distributed to the participants.
