Laishram Rahul of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai has expressed keen desire for all students, particularly junior ones, to free themselves of all forms of tension and pressure while studying. Laishram Rahul studied in Catholic School, Canchipur from Class I to Class X and he topped the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) 2022 by scoring 586 marks.

His father Laishram Premkumar is a contract staff of National Health Mission and his mother Laishram (O) Sanahanbi is a Government Primary school teacher. Rahul has a younger brother. Since a very young age, Rahul was quite inquisitive and he used to ask his parents many questions about anything he found new. He was also quite hard-working.

Exulting on his spectacular achievement, Rahul said that he would like give credit for his success to his parents and teachers. Following the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent prolonged lockdown, regular classes were replaced with online classes but the online classes were not effective enough, Rahul said. "As such, I bought many reference books and worked very hard.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, I was also able to read different books of my choice at the time of my choice", he said. "Had there been no Covid-19 lockdown, I might not have been able to read and study with a free mind thinking about school exams and tests conducted at tuition centres and the associated tension", Rahul confided.

"I did not have fixed hours for studying and there were days when I did not read any book or study any subject", he continued. He said that he would continue higher studies in Manipur in Science stream before taking up the profession of teaching. Observing that corruption is rampant in the State, the young student expressed keen desire to fight against corruption.

Dhanajeet gets ready to clear NEET

Dhanajeet Nongmaithem of Heritage Convent, Uripok who secured the 2nd position in the HSLC Examination 2022 has already started attending coaching classes in Rajasthan to fulfil his aspirations of successfully clearing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and become a doctor.

It may be noted that Dhanajeet Nongmaithem hails from Khurai Heikrumakhong and is the eldest son of Nongmaithem Somorendro and Khoirom Kripamayee Devi. Nongmaithem Somorendro works in the Forest Department as the Wood Preservation & Seasoning Officer while Khoirom Kripamayee Devi is a housewife.

Dhanajeet got a total of 585 marks in the HSLC Exam 2022 conducted by BOSEM and secured the 2nd position along with another school mate, Tanishq Tongbram. In a telephonic conversation with the 2nd position holder, Dhanajeet shared that he was currently attending coaching classes at Allen Career Institute to actualise his goal of becoming a doctor.

He also said that he attended tuition classes for all subjects in preparation for the HSLC Exam 2022 . Further, Dhanajeet added that he will pursue further studies in Rajasthan.

Tanishq Tongbram eyes IPS officer

Scond position holder Tanishq Tongbram of Heritage Convent, Uripok wants to join Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in future. Tanishq is the first of two daughters and one son of Tongbram Robinson and Poonam Devi of Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak.

In an exclusive interview, Tanishq told The People's Chronicle that she had firm belief of coming among top 10 positions in the examination but never expected to secure the second position.

Regarding the preparation she made for the exam, Tanishq said that taking tuition and discussion with some teachers physically helped her a lot as physical classes could not be conducted properly due to COVID-19 pandemic. She also said she had no time frame for reading but sometimes read for long hours when she felt like.

She advised future students to use mobile phone in the right way and gain maximum knowledge from modern gadgets.

Tanishq Tongbram of Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak who secured 2nd position in the HSLCE 2022 results declared today has made it clear that she would pursue higher studies under CBSE and would join Indian Foreign Service (IFS) after completing her studies. Tanishq is the eldest child of Tongbram Robinson and Tongbram (O) Poonam.

Her father is a Havildar of Home Guard. Tanishq said that she was both excited and happy on learning about her HSLCE result. She said that there was no fixed hours for study but studied whenever she felt like.

Saying that she would study in Science stream in her next phase of education, Tanishq underscored dedication, focus and single-mindedness for one to excel in one's academic career.

3rd position holder Menaka eyes CS

Huidrom Menaka Devi of Eureka Academy, Thounaojam who secured the third position along with Jesia Khwairakpam in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2022 conducted by BOSEM is eyeing a career as a civil servant in the years ahead.

She has also emphasized on the importance of self study and said that tutions are necessary only for specific hard topics. The third position holder who hails from Keirak Khongnang Makhong is the youngest child of Huidrom Shyamo Singh and Huidrom (Ongbi) Jamuna Devi.

Her parents are farmers who spend their days toiling in the fields or tending to their kitchen garden.

Huidrom Menaka has credited her success to her teachers and her family. Adding that the pandemic had initially affected her studies, she added that effective online classes proved to be a boon in that situation. Speaking about her future aspirations, she maintained that she will continue her studies in the Science stream in Manipur till the 12th standard.

Beyond this, she will pursue her studies outside the State. She also expressed her desire to try her hand at the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC in the future. To a question, Huidrom Menaka said that she wants to appear for the Civil Services Examination in order to be of service to her fellow human beings. She stated that she wants to serve the people and as such had set her goal to be a civil servant.

Medicine on the radar of Jesia

Jesia Khwairakpam of Ratankumar Memorial School, Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi, who is one of the two third position holders in the HSLC Examination 2022 has said that she wants to be a doctor in the future. She added that high quality online classes that were on par with offline classes eliminated any academic inconveniences that may have arisen during the pandemic.

It may be noted that she secured a total of 584 marks in the examination.

Jesia Khwairakpam who hails from Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi is the eldest child of Dr Khwairakpam Hilari Singh and Dr RK Bhanisana Devi, who are the founder and principal respectively of Ratankumar Memorial School. She is currently studying at De Paul International Residential School, Mysore in the Science stream.

In her message to students, she said that students should partake in many other activities instead of limiting their interests to books alone. She also highlighted the importance of watching motivational videos.
