Sachinker Sagolsem ties the knot with fiancée Raina Rajkumari in Imphal

In a traditional Meitei wedding ceremony, actor and YouTuber Sachinker Sagolsem and Raina Rajkumari exchanged vows on Friday, February 16, 2024. The auspicious event took place at the bride's residence, Nongmeibung Purana Rajbari, in Imphal.

The couple had previously announced their elopement on YouTube and Instagram early last year and expressed their intention to tie the knot in 2024.

Despite the joyous occasion, the ongoing violent situation in Manipur, which has persisted since May of the previous year, has cast a shadow of concern over the celebrations. The prevailing rules and restrictions in and around Manipur have added to the worries of friends, family, and well-wishers.

Sachinker's mother, Sagolsem (O) Keinatombi, emphasized that the purpose of their son's marriage amidst ethnic strife is not to flaunt a life of luxury or convenience to others. Instead, it is a matter of adhering to their tradition of marrying their children at the appropriate astrologically-determined time. She further expressed her sadness over the ongoing disheartening situation in Manipur, emphasizing that they are all affected by it.

Renowned filmmaker and actor Priyakanta Laishram, who currently resides in Delhi, posted a video on Instagram from the Lei Lengba ceremony of Raina. In the post, he expressed his nostalgia, mentioning how it feels like just yesterday when Sachinker and Raina formed a strong bond during the early days of filming the movie Spaced Out.

He continued, "Now, you both are about to embark on your marital journey. As you begin this new chapter in your lives, I send my heartfelt wishes for your continuous growth, success, and unwavering togetherness, both in happy and challenging times. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the wedding, but I promise to visit both of you once I am in Imphal. May your lives be filled with an abundance of love, love, and only love."

Born as the eldest son to Sagolsem Sarat and Sagolsem (O) Keinatombi, Sachinker is followed by two younger brothers, while Raina is the first daughter of Rajkumar Motital and Ningthemcha (O) Kamala and is followed by one younger brother.

Sachinker Sagolsem, known for his debut in the film "Spaced Out - Panthung Di Kadaaida" directed by Priyakanta Laishram, has been steadily building his career in the Manipuri film industry. Apart from appearing in minor roles in other Manipuri web series and films, he has also made a name for himself on YouTube.

On the work front, Sagolsem is set to grace the silver screen once again as an antagonist in the upcoming Manipuri feature film "ONENESS," directed by Laishram, which is scheduled for release in 2024.
