Relief materials and interaction programmes at Kangpokpi
As part of the ongoing voluntary initiative, distribution of relief materials and interaction programmes were conducted at 3(three) Relief Camps located at Kangpokpi District namely :- i) Lhangnomphai Relief Camp ii) Damdei Relief Camp and iii) Motbung Bethlehem Veng Relief Camp by a delegation led by the Hon'ble Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul, along with Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui; Mr. RS Reisang Sr. Advocate and other Advocates of the High Court of Manipur; Mr. Letkho Kipgen, District & Sessions Judge, Senapati; Mr. Alek Muivah, Member Secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority; Ms. Kimneingah Kipgen, Secretary, Senapati District Legal Services Authority, Mr. Subham Vashist, Joint Registrar (Judl.),High Court of Manipur and other Registry officials.
Shri Manoj Prabhakar, S.P., Kangpokpi; S. Baite, ADC, Kangpokpi; Len Singsit, SDO, Champhai; Lamminlal Simte, SDO, Waichong; Paotinsei Kipgen, SDO, Saitu; President & Members of All Tribal Lawyers Association, Manipur (ATLAM) also accompanied the Chief Justice in the visit to the relief camps.
Relief materials and interaction programmes at Kangpokpi
Relief materials were distributed to the inmates residing in the 3(three) relief camps. The inmates received relief items such as Syntex (Water Container), Carpet, Winter Shawl, Portable solar lamp, Thermo-flask, Immersion rod, Hot water bag, Lactogen, Mothers Horlicks, buckets, mugs, plate & sport items, with the aim to alleviate some of the challenges faced by the inmates.
During the visit, the delegation interacted with the inmates. The inmates expressed their concerns mainly on lack of source of income & availability of medicines. It is also submitted that the students residing at the relief camps faced difficulties in going to school due to distance & geographical barriers.
Further, all Tribal Lawyers Association, Manipur submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble the Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur for improvement of infrastructures of the District Judiciary.
It may be mentioned that the team had already visited & distributed relief materials to the Relief camps located at Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West & Kakching districts earlier this month.
