Respected Sir,
We write to you today with heavy hearts, deeply concerned about the escalating tensions and violence that threaten the peace and unity of our beloved Manipur. Manipur that is Kangleipak, has a rich history of
diversity and resilience, but recent events have put these values under severe strain.
First and foremost, we implore you to uphold the integrity of Kangleipak. Please, do not let divisive forces tear apart the fabric of our state. We must stand united as one people, as Indians and Manipuris,
irrespective of our differences, to safeguard the unity and sovereignty of Manipur.
Furthermore, we urge you to put an end to the spread of hate and animosity between the Kuki and Meitei communities. It pains us deeply to witness the vilification of our Kuki brothers and sisters, just as it is
distressing to see Meiteis targeted with unjust accusations. We call upon your office to take decisive action to quell these sentiments.
Additionally, we must address the harmful rhetoric surrounding the term "refugees" that your office uses. The indigenous populations of Manipur are not refugees in their land. Using such language only serves to deepen divisions and perpetuate injustice. We urge you to refrain from employing such divisive language and instead work towards inclusivity and reconciliation.
Never before in the history of Northeast India have we witnessed such communal colours. It is disheartening to see our once peaceful land engulfed in strife and conflict. We must acknowledge that it is
the responsibility of your government to navigate these challenges and prevent further escalation.
The unity of Kukis and Meiteis is a fundamental principle that must be preserved at all costs. We implore you to take proactive measures to address the root causes of violence and unrest in Manipur. Mere lip
service to the issue is not enough. We demand concrete action to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
The recent outbreak of violence in Manipur serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for decisive action. We urge you to act swiftly and decisively to restore peace and stability to our state.
We would also, like to express our support for the central government's decision to remove Indian armed forces from Manipur. However, we also call upon your office to ensure that this transition is managed
effectively and does not result in further destabilization.
Moreover, we urge you to prioritize relief efforts for those affected by violence and unrest. It is incumbent upon your government to provide assistance and support to those in need.
We also call for immediate action to survey and repair temples and churches that have been destroyed in the recent violence.
The people of Manipur look to you, our elected representatives, to lead with courage and integrity.
The time for action is now. The future of Manipur hangs in the balance, and we cannot afford to wait any longer.
Kangleipak Wing, WSF
United as one, let's always remember our unity
For greater Northeastern Unity
