12 Years Old Indian climate and environmental activist Licypriya Kangujam meets Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Vatican’s Head Pope Francis in Rome today. She urged the two top world leaders to provide special humanitarian support to the victims of Manipur Violence.

Licypriya is currently in Rome, Italy for attending the first World Children’s Day celebration graced by His Holiness Pope Francis. She was specially invited to attend the event as Special Guest on behalf of all the children of the world along with her family.

She discussed with the Pope the urgency to fight the global climate crisis with urgent climate finance by the rich nations to pay loss and damage to the poor developing nations. She highlighted that Climate education must be mandatory in every school education curriculum in all the catholic schools around the world to fight climate change from the grassroots.

Licypriya briefed the Italian Prime Minister and the Pope about the root cause of Manipur's conflicts and urged them to provide a special financial package to rebuild the communities including a massive afforestation program in Manipur.

Pope assures her of full support in the cause she is fighting for world peace. This is the second time Licypriya is meeting Pope Francis and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. They met last year too.

“My meeting will strengthen the relationship between the two countries. It will help to boost more power in my fight to save our planet and for humanity with the blessing of His Holiness Pope Francis”,

“Italy must stand with humanity and should support United Nations in stopping the Israel Genocide against Palestinian People in Gaza”, Licypriya told the media after meeting the Pope.
