Iron lady Sharmila : a brand ambassador of AAASHH making waves in Kashmir

Iron Sharmila, a legendry fighter from Manipur, who put her own life at stake, for upholding the dignity of Manipuri women in particular & people of Manipur in general, is making waves in Kashmir. SARHAD (Pune) which works silently for Nation Building process, by going deep into problems faced by the communities living on border areas & intensifying people to people level contact had taken initiative of organising Sharmila's visit to Kashmir.

SARHAD has also initiated a new forum, AAASSH - meaning hope, which will provide a platform to market products produced by women artisans from conflict prone zones. Initiating with Pune in Maharashtra, the plan is to open outlets in important cities of Maharashtra & other states of India. The idea is to market not just the product, but a package. The customers while patronizing products at AAASSH Will help generate employment for women in conflict zones & also get to learn about the communities & the problems faced by them during long periods of turmoil .

Iron sharmila, is the Brand Ambassador for AAASSH. She has been touring different parts of Kashmir for the last few days, understanding the plight of Kashmiri women & children. She has met chairperson of the women Commission, Kashmir.

Interacted with girls, students & ladies. She also met the Hon. CM of Kashmir along with Sanjay Nahar,this week in SriNagar. Sharmila was given warm reception by Hon CM and was wholeheartedly welcomed at all the places she visited.

She was asked number of questions regarding people and culture of Manipur. She could establish bonding and a feeling of sisterhood with people of Kashmir, thereby bringing together the people of Manipur and Kashmir.
