Appeal to all leaders of Manipur

I dont know, whose ancestral land Manipur was, as I have not seem it nor, anybody living now has seen the 1000 years in the past, or can tell, who the real owners of the land is. Let us come back to Manipur, well, meiteis, kukis, nagas, etc consists of majority manipuri people, and yes, everyone has a right to demand here and there, whether it is right, reasonable or not.

However, if everyone look at the way, demand are create at the drop of the hats, that means that, it seems like, it is only the path of business, in creating demand only, but never looking into the kind of demand, whether it can granted, or can come to a respectable solution. Let look into the demand of nagas, alternative arrangement, well why can’t, it be granted.

If demand are imposed as it is, the way, the nagas are imposing, with no give and take, has any demand ever being granted anywhere in the history of the world. Well, it is not subject to discuss on the demand, on its right or wrong.

If Kukis and Nagas want to live their lives on their own, I feel, meiteis should not be objecting, but, there should be a proper way of understanding, on the way, how the separation procedures is going to take places. If Kukis and Nagas, want to do it forcefully, well, they need to have more guns and power, to really enact the law and force, to bring the changes.

But at this moment, they don’t seem to have it, so requesting to GOI or GOM will not help, as the person, who is going to really grant the separate state is meiteis only and also will be the only one, who is going to live with you as neighbour, in the coming long years.

Now, let us explore our minds and see in the past, why meiteis came to live in the valley and kukis and nagas are living in the hills. Is there an enemity at that, where there are lots of war and fighting, between the hills and the valley people. I feel, not much is hear on this part in fighting and more on sharing of love and facing common enemies.

So there much be, some a kind of arrangement in way of living or kind of a protocol or strong understanding, etc, at that time. Now the time has change, with globalisation and trade, etc, becoming the focal point for surviving at this time. So, here, let implore on nagas demands.

The nagas are demanding a separate state, which should cover all the national highways, which is the lifeline of meiteis, then, in the future, the meiteis will depend on the nagas, for survival. Thus, giving separate state is a big no, for the survival of meiteis. Thus, the court is on the nagas people, how are you going to suppress this fear in the mind of meiteis.

Because, at this, there is so much hate and lost of trust and confidence between nagas and meiteis that, saying yes to a separate state for nagas, is only committing suicide for the meiteis. So according to me, there are three ways, on how, the nagas people would get their demands, first one is killing all the meiteis, that way, there will be no opposition.

Secondly, make peace with meiteis, bring up the confidence level and trust, and the third one, which is the best for everyone, is try to sit down together and find a middle path by compromising on the demand, on the path of giving some and taking some, so that, both parties are on a win-win situation.

I feel that, the third way should be explore by the leaders of the same communities, and should be given more time and emphasis. That way, we all can come to a solution, instead of putting our future generation careers and prospects to a losing path. We all are demanding, opposing, and losing lots of our precious time, at the stake of our future generation.

And, what we should understand is that, not a single persons living outside manipur, who are not the stakeholders is going to come to help, untill, we help ourselves. The example of not getting single help from outside manipur was shown recently, when manipur was block for 100 days, with petrol price quoting above Rs. 200.

Now is the time for all leaders to sort out the difference, and go forwards, if not, we all be remain in this turmoil and dark, and what it bring only will be the degradation and more lost opportunities for our future generation. It will like killing ourselves.

Likewise, Kukis, meities and nagas should be united first of all, and bring a good understanding level, so as to have a good future for the all the upcoming generation. If it is separation between the kukis, nagas and meities, etc, it should be discuss with a respecting and understanding the opposing parties position.

If not, without this, the state will stay in turmoil, demands and opposition, can only block more of the development and opportunities loss once, can’t be brought again, which can only bring more disparity between poor and rich. People of manipur, should take a leave out of the global leaders and mainly the European leaders, without any ego, are fighting unitedly against this debt crisis, without losing any hope, and with a vision of coming out of this crisis, which every week, one or another crisis is propping up.

Likewise, Mainpur also is having full of problems, however, not a single leaders is willing to sit, face to face with its opposing party, to discuss on the problem, so as to find a solution and go forward. And instead of doing the right thing, everyone is shouting here and there on the sidelines, demanding anything right and left, on any issue.

In the middle of all these, people, who are sitting in power, are all running here and there, trying to amass all sort of ill-gotten wealth. Besides all these, there are some members of the societies, who are again asking for an independence from GOI.

All these demand and problems, cannot be solved in the next thousand years, if no one is willing to negotiate or willing to come out openly, talk, sit, discuss, explore new ideas, etc, so as to really wanting to find a solution.

However, all this kind of thing, which the common people are wanting it to happen, are never going to happen, as everyone, who is demanding and creating problems, really are not looking for any solutions, which are respectable, and are on a win-win situation of both parties, which can bring a long time peace and development.

Thus, to find a solution, we all need to create a room, adjusted, negotiated, explore ideas, between ourselves. And I feel that, to start with, government of Manipur (GOM) is a good platform to start with, maybe announce crease-fire, or peace talks with the rebels groups, in a whole hearted manner, with genuine interest.

The reasons, I like GOM to start the peace process and negotiation is because, people in Manipur, should think that, until, the people really wants peace and development, no one from outsides Manipur will come and initiate that or imposes on us.

So the GOM and people should initiate the peace process, as at this time, they are ones, who really needs something to start from, for the sake of future generation. Just like that, all door of negotiation should be open, either with nagas and kukis, so as to bring a lasting and win-win solution for the Government of Manipur.
