Flora of Manipur by Banti Phurailatpam :: March 2012

Do you have a ridiculous love, a consuming passion for something raw, unvaluable, inexpressible?? If Yes, Girl i tell u, dnt hide it, express it, its totally worth it, for thats what makes U!

As a small child I loved going to school, neither because of the friends or the games, but just to get dressed in my tiny GREEN uniform (CSC) & put on my GREEN ribbons & a sense of satisfaction spread over me. I always found myself drawing GREEN mountains, trees, bushes and leaves in my drawing book; my GREEN crayon was always the first to become the shortest amongst all.

Later when i had the chance to choose between Nirmalabas & LFS, i choose LFS particularly for its GREEN colour uniform (ofcourse LFS proved fulfiling later). Somehow down the line I fell in love with GREEN. Yes, the color GREEN. It didnt take long for me to realise that, everytime i see a splash of green in the most random place, i smile away to glory; like the words written by a green marker on the white board,or a green painted corridor or the green linens......anything GREEN.

I dnt seem to see Any other color apart frm dat (theoretically); when shopping My sis always finds me running towards only to green shades until c pulls me away, like a Devine intervention, or else i wud hv own only green n nothg more & she will conclude flourishly "be a more colourful lady" ( i swear idk what life would have been without her ) oky coming to the green part,

I always seems to find word to describe my strange obsession for green bt wen i finally wana say it the word escapes me for theres no perfect word to describe hw much this color means to me !

The perfect colour.
I can never get enough of it.
It feels sooo right when im in green.

May be The only thing strnger dan my green passion,Which makes my heart n stomach flip a little is poetry. FYI, i write a lot. A lot, really.

I find my relaxation, my peace, my comfort in green.

Its my feeling that love is :not loving sumthing wen dey dnt have the thing bt loving it evn after u hav got enough of it.. I already hav more dan enough of green, and i mean alot,stil i dnt seem to get enuf of it. The reason- im in love wit it!! I hav a fb album jus dedicated to my green wardrobe!! At the moment i particularly like my Green Bebe dress which i bought for my 21st bday, its jus so perfect, for few days after i got her, i keep whispering to her "u are truly a babe"; no judging please i felt it was a fulfilling gesture.yo!

U knw wat is so differently great abt green than the rest? Is its glow, the way it shines so delicately, it just feel right and Intense at the same time. Its tooo elegant, in green the elegance quotient is sky high. Even in days wen i dnt luk good or wen im low ,wen i wear my greens it lifts my spirits to few notches. Its tacky, to say the least.

The mantra when in doubt wear green works jus perfect for me. I know, i know, there's other colors like pink, red, purple, etc but its i tell u there's more to green dan jus being a color. May b it has a secrecy?! Wen i see people wearing green , it givs a whole different meaning abt d look to me ,evn if it dnt luk good,its like a long phrase of words expressing soo many things, dats d beauty of it.

D feeling of being blown away, jus pleasantly carried away like floating in cloud and........the word escapes yet again.The feeling it gives me isnt ordinary may be i hav a natural knack for green. I figure i'll get used to its beauty eventually.right? Some might say i hav completely lost it, but i say,May b im different bt to live and love some thing most people consider d unusual or raw has made me,yeah!

Its the color between the unclear things and the clear bright things. Its truly the color of life. It represents The color of growing leaves, fields, trees, lush vegetation and thus is a color which signifies growth, the color of spring season and nature, paradise ,freshness, harmony and balance. the color of hope and youth, love and natural desire. If u see Green in ur dreams its signifies personel growth, a natural transformation frm within , It shows hope n rebirth in fresh better ways after a period of difficulties like how a flower blossoms again in spring after withering in winter like the sakura.in China its a color of fertility. The color signifies safety and a go ahead in traffic since ages.

Historically- its significance n beauty is vast, but to mention one the Mona lisa by loenardo da vinci is worn green.

Its a very traditional color too and it is believed those fortunate enough to live in paradise wear Green silk robes. Do you know Water, greenery and a beautiful face r considered 3 universally good things.

It also signifies money."the green stuff" as how people refers to.

Quite a list,huh?

At d same time it represents envy, jealousy, the unexplained the dark emotions of life. Remember when Shakespeare said " the green eyed monster n green eyed jealousy in the Othello n the mercent of venice respectively.

Yes truly a colour which signifies life, a colour that has its own lingua.

Medically its proven that its healing for the eyes. Seeing green improves eyesight by relaxing the eyes.

Its also found that it improves reading ability. Laying a green transparent sheet over a reading material increases reading comprehension n speed.Yayyy!!

And the "Green room" yes wr d artist r sited before performing, its decorated green cos green gives a calming relaxing effect. So if ur tensed put up green n see green.

N y eat Green??
-They r excellent source of folate which reduce the risk of cvs diseases n memory loss. It fights depression n improves ur mood in a zap.
-They r rich in fibers. U need it if u dnt want a constipation.
-They r a rich source of minerals and vitamins.
-They prevent cataract formation due to their high lutein content.
-They r imp during pregnancy too for the proper development of foetus.
-Quercitin in green veggies also help in blocking allergic reactions.

By now u must hav guessed i prefer an emerald ring better than a diamond for my engagement with lots of Green fireworks. Oh n the green in emerald is bcos of d chromium content-science i tell u!!

Put some green in your life if u want:
* growth
* balance
* new ideas
* and ofcourse beauty

Go get GREEN!!
