How I Grew Up With This Nature - 11
- Coming back to Bangalore -

By Devaraj Takhellambam *

Alright....It has been a long time. I guess it was in October last year that I wrote my series- 10'th of my boring series of article. I am so fed up with life now.

Sometimes, I feel I am one big looser and guilty that I have not been able to do anything in life.....I am so mad. I get this stringent time this afternoon after a wake of all these months of hard work, busy cat diving just around the shore...Baby, its time to stand still.

I don't care what day is today or where am I and I have decided to write this continuation of my article...Whatever it is, time will heal and I take to this writing coz it ease my pain. Oh yes..It does.

Please read my previous article if you get lost..because I am lost myself trying to figure out where I left myself in the last series..I hear you say Gurgaon..Yes, it was Gurgaon..the end of it..

With gloomy eyes, and the winter bringing the tastes of another season, I use to go for a stroll every morning around the apartment complex that I stayed.. You know what, I use to cover app. 3km at a stretch by calculating the area of the peripheral boundary and converting in km.

Well, that was a good experience..Atleast I take care of my health even though I booze in the evenings.. Work was boring in the office. same work, same stuff, same people, same coffee in the same innocent paper cup.. same cigarette...same noodles.. same bread and omllette.. same thing everywhere.. It was going a toll out of me.. no kidding.. I guess I get bored very soon with everything except for the emotional attachments that I have with someone

Finally, after all that hard conversations, promises, convinces with my manager, I got the transfer ticket to Bangalore.. Yeahhhhhh... "Take me down to the paradise city where the grass is green and girls are pretty" as the song goes ...I did what 50 push ups every morning and evening just to look good as I was going to Bang... It was amazing... I wish I have that kind of feeling quite often... People will look young all the time.. no matter what age they are..when you are happy and excited...broooommmm

Bangalore, I always wanted to be here coz she was there and she is still here...Wow..what a pleasant relief !!! There are those that dream of travelling in the past or even into the future but, at that moment, there was no arresting the relentless, inevitable, inexorable march of Time...my career is here! – Back to Bangalore...

Forgive the cliche, but words cannot describe the welter of emotions I have experienced the 2 amazing years as a distant event that has transformed into visible reality, shaped my career, make me fall in love, took a personal loan, got a credit card, head-banged in the busiest pub in the town- all for the first time. Yes..I am leaving Gurgaon...

The last week of October, 2005, on that beautiful morning, I landed at the Bangalore airport with a pleasant smile on the face and with an impatient attitude, I headed directly to her hostel....She didn't even know that I was coming to Bangalore...

I spoke to her on the phone while I was on the way from the airport, talking to her casually, you know. She thought I was still in GGN. I didn't tell her that I was coming either..... Over the phone, I enquire about her place, how-to-go-from-the-airport etc..

In the next 10 min, I was standing in front of her hostel...and requested a lady to call for her...Hilarious, she came out thinking that somebody from the bank or someone else had come to see her...She saw me there standing with that innocent smile I got ( that's why all the ladies die for J )..and then she stood there for a while, probably trying to believe what she was seeing, trying to talk with her mind to ask if it was for real or not...It was real ..I was standing there for real baby!!!. Did you hear me?

Well..Novemeber...Deepawali...crackers and it all started.. ....the love...

I still remember the long walk around the park ....that was exhilarating...the pani-puri, tomato chaat and what not..:)

Well, too much of love stories! Let me keep that aside for a while or else the girls will go mad....:) just kidding

What a marvelous adventure again, back to Bangalore. Rediscovering the city has been one of two highlights...the cacophony of street sounds, the hawkers plying their early morning trades, the organized chaos of vehicular movement, perfecting the cities 'head roll' and the never ending search for the 'perfect' dosa!, my masala!

And of course meeting with my old friends again, my college mates -now I can talk crazy little talks about leikais and leisabis with them...and cook that delicious chicken curry..

My favorite months of the year are between September to the end of the year...And that's when I always like to take a break, a break from everything that I have been doing. Make a change and bring a new tide. ...and talk to an old friend about the old time favourites..Drink a hot cup of coffee and just watch the street...watch the people..watch the babes..oooo...

Every corner of the road, flashing lights, decorated the street on a long stretch...colorful city, brightness everywhere in the pleasant evenings. Soft and loud music's from the mikes emerging from distant and near places...makes you feel that everyone is in a good mood and that makes you feel good as well...

Devotional songs, drum beats, stage performance...children's burning crackers. They are all nice..! That is the season that I always love to be...and I am here again today..

Work was kind of cool with less or absolutely nothing ( when you get into a new project) and that's when I really started writing this series of article... Really!!! 2005 ( that was when I first wrote my first article of this ongoing series) , already 3 years past by and I just can't believe how soon time flies away...

Now..I am getting old, My girl friend is asking for marriage every now and then, getting old is no fun....the fact that I still think that I am just a grown up guy keeps me alive all the time and never consider getting married...I always have this feeling in my mind that people who get married are all matured people...and I am still immature.

I still can't plan my financial accountability... However, on the brighter side I must admit that I have started thinking about it, getting married, get settled down..oh wow!!!.. A dinning table, nice fridge, a super cool sofa set... amazing LCD screen...wow..wow..You guys will get the invitation soon. I couldn't just imagine getting married man...

What guys, Life is too short man!!! I have spend almost half of my life already, looking out for all the things that I dreamt but haven't achieve anything except for the very stable girl..

Having an egg fried rice and fried Mackerel fish along with Abraham(Maibam) and Lincoln(Jeeban) was just fascinating. It was cost effective and also tasty...the evening paid the price...the empty hollow ground was just a perfect place to have dinner, that was in R.T Nagar... whereas with girls- go for a buffet, a nice dinner in a fancy restaurant, pay the huge bill and pretend like it was just another casual expenditure.... (I never knew what a buffet is and I still wrongly pronounce it is b-AA-fat)...

The merry-go-round at the water world, the watch of the water dance in the air with beautiful rays of light, the ride to the MG road on an Activa... the walk by the side of the Sankey TANK.... they were all just awesome. Moments to remember, times that were most unforgettable... They will never come back again, will they?

Man, I am getting tired and depleted...where did all those days gone by...These days, I only think about – job, house, car and things like that...T-shirts will no longer fit me perfect, the belly enjoying its expansion...

The rate of its expansion is directly proportional to the amount of laziness and the food I take...No more walks...no more long conversations over the phone...hook up on a long running process on a UNIX box...Making a presentation. Life has indeed changed...really!

Boys and girls- Get up and dance...Make your body fit...Listen up and talk a loud...wave your hands in the air and feel the joy. Joy to everything...Time is precious....Happy season of lights...

If you are lucky and have a friend who has a treadmill, go to his place and burnt a few hundreds of calories. Sweat it out a little bit and see how you feel..the city is so much packed that you will hardly find a nice place to jog around..I just did it last weekend and I felt great!!

Time and tide wait for no man
(act in a timely fashion because you can't get back lost chances)
(or, once again as Dr. who likes to say: Time and tide melts the snowman.)

(( to be continued....) )
