entered government service as Extension Officer (Panchayat) on 18th June 1972 and
promoted to BDO on 19th February 1981,
Retired as BDO from Thoubal CD Block on 31st March 1999.

2. Founder Secretary of the Keishamthong Kabui Women Society in 1967.
3. Founder Member of the Fulling Cultural Organisation (FCO), Imphal Manipur from 1972

5. Vice President of the Ruangmei Literature Society, Manipur from 1996 to 2006

Contribution and Achievement as a Writer:

Wrote the following dramas:
1. Tingkao Sammei Loi Na Keidamei staged at MDU in 1956
2. Kapuning staged at MDU in 1958. It was brought out as a video film in 1995 under the sponsorship of Kakhuchulung Golthanmei of Dimapur.
3. Lentong staged at MDU in 1960
4. Karaona staged at MDU in 1961
5. Guirennei staged at MDU in 1962
6. Mukamei Latlen staged at MDU in 1964
7. Jeinu Duipang staged at MDU in 1966
8. Lengsonnei staged at MDU in 1968
9. Sun staged at MDU in 1971
10. Tingil Pong staged at MDU in 1972
11. Kashok Pong staged at MDU in 1976. The play participated at the 14th All India Multi Lingual Short Play Competition held at Allahabad by Natya Sangh and won the President Award of the Sangh in 1981.
12. Shunila staged at MDU in 1978
13. Ganphu Tao staged at MDU in 1980
14. Delhi Chalo staged at MDU in 1981. The play participated at the 15th All India Multi Lingual Short Play Competition held at Allahabad by Natya Sangh and won the President Award of the Sangh in 1982.
15. Dolly staged at MDU in 1978 and 1984
16. Lingpan Kathan staged at MDU in 1984
17. Haipou Jadonang staged at GM Hall in 1993

Awards:

1. Awarded the President Award of the Sangh in the 14th All India Multi Lingual Short Play Competiton held at Allahabad for the play 'Kashok Pong' in 1981 by Natya Sangh

2. Awarded the President Award of the Sangh in the 15th All India Multi Lingual Short Play Competiton held at Allahabad for the play 'Delhi Chalo' in 1982 by Natya Sangh

3. Conferred 'Distinguished Award' in the field of Literature on 16th February 1987 by Zelianglong Student's Union, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.

4. Manipur State Kala Academi Award for Ruangmei Literature in 1997-98

5. Memento of Excellence awarded in the 74th Solidaruty Day of Zelianglong on 1st April, 2008 by Zeliangrong Union, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland

6. Award for Script and brilliant for the film 'Kapuning' on 21st June, 2009 by Zelianglong Film Development Association, Manipur

7. Awarded 'Nongpok Ningthou Award' 2010 in 2011 by Panthoibi Cultural Research Centre for Performing Arts, Paona Keithel, Imphal.

A story book title 'Nongallamdaigi Amamba' written by Poujairung in Manipuri is included in the text book titled 'Ariba Manipuri Sahitya' of Board of Secondary Education Manipur in the current syllabus of Class IX.

In his stories like 'Ningol', Eesugi Naohongphi' published in the monthly journal 'Feedamnapham' he tries to bring peace and harmony in Manipur state. In these stories he tries to highlights the love and peaceful relationship which once prevailed between hill and valley people.

Stories like 'Ningthi Ngamba Pamheiba' and 'Sangi Khonggul' were published in 'Athouba' monthly journal.

Poujairung is also fond making statues and other objects of clay since his childhood. He loves making statues of Gods and Goddesses from wood. Some of his sculptures are still at his resident.

Besides, Poujairung is an expert in paintings. The first exhibition of traditional paintings was organised in 2002 at the Majorkhul community hall.

The second exhibition of the traditional paintings was held on 1st April, 2008 at Sangaiprou Kabui Community Hall on the occasion of 74th Solitary Day of Zelianglong.
