Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship Outreach Session at Arunachal
Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), in collaboration with the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), orchestrated an enlightening outreach session on Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships on April 4th, 2024. Hosted jointly by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of RGU and USIEF, the event drew participation from students pursuing Master’s degrees, diploma courses, Ph.D. scholars, and faculty members of the university.
The session provided a platform for meaningful interaction between attendees and distinguished resource persons, notably including Ms. Sohini Jana, Education USA Advisor and Mr. Sumanta Basu, Regional officer, Education USA Advisor at USIEF.
They shared information and detailed analysis on application process, related benefits and future prospects with regard to availing the Fulbright fellowship at different stages of academic life. Their insights into the Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship program were invaluable for aspiring scholars and academicians seeking international academic opportunities.
Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor, RGU encouraged the participants mentioning that these fellowships not just significantly advance the career prospects of individual beneficiaries but also bring laurels for their community, institution and state.
Dr. N.T. Rikam, Registrar, RGU in his message shared that with growing stature of RGU in academic domains such fellowships if secured by our scholars and/or academicians will add priceless feather to institutional glory. Prof. Otem Padung, Finance Officer, RGU also motivated the participants to dream big and try for availing the Fulbright fellowship in their larger academic and professional interest.
Prof. R.C. Parida, Director of IQAC and Head of the Commerce Department at RGU, commended the attendees for their enthusiastic engagement during the session, highlighting their eagerness to explore avenues for academic and professional growth.
Dr. Ravi Ranjan Kumar, HoD, Social Work, RGU and Ms. Rima Kalita, Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine Arts & Music at RGU, also played an integral role in facilitating the event, fostering an environment conducive to learning and collaboration. The event was moderated by Ms. Toko Jiri, PhD Scholar of Department of Social Work. Over 150 participants pro-actively attended and benefitted from the programme.
