EBTC & JCRE signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
In a pioneering initiative set to redefine the landscape of skill development in India, the European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC), New Delhi, and JCRE (an initiative by BCF) North-East India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. This alliance is strategically positioned to support the burgeoning need for skilled professionals, catalyzed by the increased investment flow expected from the EFTA agreement and the EU-India Free Trade Agreement negotiations currently underway.
As part of the broader vision encapsulated by the anticipated $100 billion investment from EFTA countries, the MoU underscores a shared commitment to nurturing a resilient industry-academia-research collaboration. Central to this initiative is the establishment of Centres of Excellence aimed at fostering skill development in key sectors, thereby facilitating the connect between the robust requirements of industry stakeholders and the growing number of youth in search of jobs.
This collaboration is poised to usher in a transformative era for India’s north-eastern states, bridging critical skill gaps and laying the groundwork for emerging tech companies from Europe seeking process outsourcing and capability centre partnerships in India.
The initiative is not just about meeting the immediate demands of the European market but is a forward-looking strategy aimed at ensuring long-term sustainable growth and employment opportunities for the Indian workforce.
Mr. Lairenjam Niranjan Singh, Chairperson and Managing Director of JCRE (BCF) North-East India, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating “Through this association, EBTC will help identify jobs in the industry which will enable our youth to be skilled and placed, thereby creating enhanced opportunities.”
Mr. Poul V. Jensen, Managing Director of EBTC, said “This partnership with JCRE (BCF) North-East India is a cornerstone of our strategy to foster a dynamic ecosystem for skill development and employment. By joining forces, we aim to accelerate the progress of not only the Europe-India economic corridor, but specifically the North East of India, addressing skill gaps and empowering a new generation of skilled professionals.”
Mr. Varun Sehgal, Principal of EBTC, stated, “The collaboration between EBTC and JCRE (BCF) North-East India is a beacon of our shared commitment to skill development and education. This partnership is not just about creating job opportunities, it’s about laying the foundation for continuous excellence and adaptability in the face of evolving industry demands.”
The signing was witnessed by Ms Ankita Tyagi, Head Public Projects and IP, EBTC, Mrs. Jayhsree Koijam, Director BCF, and Mr Vijaya Koumar, Industry Leader and thought leader for Innovation.
