Startup Weekend Imphal – Helping to Build a Startup Company in 54 Hours

North East State’s first Startup Weekend Imphal is scheduled for November 7 through 9 at MIMS, MU. This is first of its kind in entire North East States. Registration is now open for entrepreneurial individuals who are interested in launching a new business over the course of the weekend.

Startup Weekend is a nonprofit organization based in Seattle that promotes 54-hour events around the world where developers, designers, marketers, startup enthusiasts and others come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and create new businesses.

A pre-party boot camp will be conducted at several collages of Imphal area from October 20 through November 5, 2014. Free and open to the public, the pre-party will provide information about Startup Weekend and the opportunity for entrepreneurial thinkers to pitch an idea for a new business to event organizers. The person who pitches the most viable idea will receive a complimentary space in Startup Weekend Imphal. One can also buy the participation ticket at the boot camps or online.

Startup Weekend Imphal starts at 1:30 p.m. on November 7 with open-mic pitches from attendees who have an idea for a new business. Popular vote determines which ideas to pursue. Teams then form around each idea and get to work on the business of creating a business.

Coaches with expertise in finance, legal, marketing, sales, coding, technology, food technology and other areas are available throughout the weekend to guide teams toward success. The weekend culminates on November 9 with the teams demonstrating their prototypes and sharing their business plans to local entrepreneurial leaders who provide valuable feedback.

Startup Weekend has supported more than annual 1800 events globally. More than 36 percent of businesses launched at Startup Weekends are still going strong three months after the event, and about 80 percent of Startup Weekend participants plan to continue working with their team after the conclusion of the event, according to the organization. The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

He is empowering local leaders via Startup Weekend, Startup NEXT, Startup Digest, and Startup Education programming. He is responsible for expanding Startup Weekend base of operations in South Asia and building a local dedicated team. He also facilitates events and workshops globally.
