The Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND) Pune, which is a registered non-profit, non-government community organization founded by working/retired Manipuri professionals residing in and around Pune, established for working towards social upliftment, national integration and promote peace & harmony through various social causes such as education of girl orphanage, health sector, legal awareness campaigns for social justice, financial aid to needy outstanding sports and academic personals, community welfare and other social services, we are actively involved in the educational sector by conducting a series of voluntary programs in Pune as well as in Manipur.

As a part of its Social Outreach Program, an educational initiative of voluntary coaching of needy students, ASHA (AMAND Shiksha Abhiyan) was formally launched on 29th June 2019 at the premises of Golwalkar Guruji 54b English Medium High School, Aundh (PMC School).

The inaugural function was graced by Smt. Mrs Archana Musale, Hon’ble Corporator, Pune Municipal Corporation as the Chief Guest, Shri Vijay Shewale, Hon'ble Corporator, PMC along with Advocate (Dr.) Madukar Musale as guests of honors. Since its inception, members of AMAND are taking voluntary coaching classes for the students of the said school till date.

The program has been widely accepted by the school teachers, students and their parents. This mission of nurturing the needy students will be continued with an aim to make this school, one of the best schools amongst the government run PMC schools in Pune.

On recognition to this noble voluntary service for the upliftment of needy students in the field of education and their better future career, the Pune Municipal Corporation felicitated Dr. H. Narendra Singh, President AMAND and Prof. Kakchingtabam Kirankumar Sharma , Program Coordinator on behalf of AMAND during their annual felicitation program of Achievers on Republic Day 2020 at 10:30am at PMC Bhawan, Pune at the hands of Hon’ble Mayor, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Shri Murlidhar Mohol.

AMAND Pune cordially thanks all the faculty members of ASHA as well as all the members for their cooperation, help and moral support in making the mission successful.

Looking forward for many more such voluntary social upliftment programs in the days to come.
