State level Karate Do championship begins

Imphal, February 24 2024:
The 16th State Level Karate Do Championship 2024, which is being organised by Manipur Amateur Karate-Do Association (MAKA), began at the main 'Dojo' of ISKF Kanglei Shito Ryu Karate Do Manipur at Ibudhou Pakhangba and Ima Malem Leishna community hall, Patsoi Part-I on Saturday.
The gold medallists of the Championship will be selected to represent the state in the upcoming All India Karate Championship including Zonal and All India Inter Zonal.
The All-India Championship will take place in Uttarakhand from May 8 to 12 .
Further, the medallists will represent India in the South Asian, Asian and Commonwealth karate championships due to be held in September.
On the first day of the Championship, ISKF Kanglei Shito Ryu secured 169 points, Tala Shito Ryu (TSKA) 63 points, Kangleisha Sports 48 points, SAI STC Imphal 41 points, Seishinkai (SSKM) 32 points, Zendokai 5 points, National Shito Ryu (NSKA) 5 points, while National Sho-tokan (NSKF), Seiko Kai, Budobas, Shobukai, Japan Karate (JKA) and Wado Kai (WAKAMS) failed to register any points.
