11th Jiri Cup PWDAC beat 27 AR 5-4 on penalty

Jiribam, February 01 2016: PWDAC, Silchar edged past 27th Assam Rifles, Kadamtala by a margin of 5 goals to four in the 11th Jiri Cup Invitation Football Tournament, organised by the All Jiribam Sports Association (AJSA), today at Jiribam Higher Secondary Playground.

In the fourth preliminary knock out stage match today, PWDAC, Silchar and 27th Assam Rifle, Kadamtala were held 1-1 in normal time.

PWDAC's goal was scored by Gaipolol Rongmei in the 17th minute making the scoreline 1 � 0 in first half.

After the breather, a late strike from R Romi in the 89th minute helped 27th Assam Rifle levelled the scoreline 1-1 in normal time.

In the penalty shoot-out, PK Anal, R Romi and L Haokip found their targets while PK Bodorloi and BS Lamkang failed to score.

On the other side, goals from Tardik Rongmei, Sabir Hussain, Dil Dayal Thapa and Majnu Hussain gave four goals to PWDAC AC Boro and S Samanta of 27th Assam Rifles and PWDAC's Sabir Hussain Laskar were cautioned for unsporting behaviour during the match.

Tomorrow, YCC, Karimganj and LFC, Lungreijang will play.
