SSC to play KSDC for IE 2nd Division League crown

Imphal, December 27 2019: SSC, Sekta will lock horns with KSDC, Khomidok on December 30 for the title of the K Madhop Memorial Second Division Football League being organised by Imphal East District Football Association at YWC ground, Thambalkhong.

The first semi-final match saw SSC fight hard to beat UDO, Heingang 1-0.The lone goal that earned SSC the final berth was scored by Y Bigyananda in the 66th minute after the two sides went through a barren first half.

Meanwhile, KSDC completed the final line up with a 13-12 win against BSU, Keirao in a dramatic penalty shoot-out after the two sides were locked at 1-1 draw during normal time.

The two sides started the game aggressively and KSDC were first to open up the account with Md Raja making a fine effort count before BSU drew level in the 30th minute and made it 1-1 till the break.

Despite effort from both ends in the second half to add the winner, the game ended with the same scoreline and thus winners were decided via kicks from the penalty mark wherein KSDC emerged on top with 12 goals against BSU's 11 and made it 13-12 at the end.

In the shoot-out that ends in sudden death, BSU's Johnson, Basan, Langamba, Sanaton Mustaque Ahamad, Ruhit, Ejaj, Abid and Ingoba before Johnson and Basan make their second shots count.

Meanwhile Nawang, Md Raja, Patha Mustaque, Musha, Imtiyas, Ngamgougin, Wasin, Anish and Iliyas found the net in their first batch of shots for the winning team before Musha sealed the victory after Md Raja and Patha too scored their second shots.
