MSAP sports meet cum election held

Manipur Students' Association, Pune held MSAP Sports' Meet cum Annual General Meeting, a two-day event to celebrate the undying spirit of sports among the Manipuri youth residing in Pune and to mark the installation of a new set of office bearers of the association.
The event which saw the participation of more than 200 people from all walks of life was held on January 26 and 27 at Jagtap Stadium, SRPF Group 2, Wanowrie, Pune.
The opening ceremony was graced by Thangjam Ibohal, retired Stadium Supervisor, Department of Sports, Government of Manipur as the chief guest.
The event was organised with the objective of bringing together Manipuri students in Pune under one umbrella and to foster the spirit of sportsmanship which is an inborn characteristic of Manipuri youth.
Various sporting events including football for boys and girls, cricket for boys, shot put for men and women and several others were organised.
MSAP also organised social bonding sports event like spoon race for children, blind hit, musical chairs, chess, etc.
Overall the event was attended by about 300 individuals including children, students both boys and girls, working professionals, families and members of AMAND.
Team "Ten Star FC" representing the Tangkhul Shimkhur of Pune won the trophy for football in boys' category with team "Kuki Students' Organisation, Pune" following as runners up for the category.
MSAP also held its first ever Girls Football Tournament wherein Team "The Great Thoibi's FC" won the first prize followed by Team "Chiru Christian Fellowship" as runner up.
For boys' cricket Team "Maka Lamna" bagged the trophy followed by Team "Eastern Eagles" as runner up.
A new team of office bearers of the association with Ajit Kumar Koijam as the president, Khaidem Nongpoknganba as the vice-president, Romen Lourembam as the general secretary, Mayengbam Nganthoi Meitei as the treasurer, Aarshi Longjam as the joint secretary, Nandini Chanu Keisham as the cultural secretary, Thounaojam Shajeena as the women's secretary, Sanathoi Oinam as the sports secretary and Laishram Bishonath Khuman as the joint sports secretary were elected for the tenure 2018-19 .
