Plate Cricket: ESU overcome SCC in a low scoring match

Imphal, March 17 2015:
Eastern Sporting Union (ESU) Wangkhei defeated Sangai Cricket Club (SCC) by 5 runs to resisted win in the Plate Tournament being organised by Manipur Cricket Association (MCA) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
In the match of minnows, SCC won the toss and decided to set the target.
SCC batsmen could not rose the call of the captain could score 68 runs from 19.3 overs from the stipulated 35 overs.
Nanao could score 27 runs at run a ball rate and was the highest scorer of SCC.
Hasip followed Nanao with 12 runs from 23 balls.
Other batsmen could not make any major contribution to the team score and seems they are in a hurry to walk back to the pavilion.
All the bowlers of ESU, Hemchand; Balajit; Chitranjan and Shangkar were rewarded with 2 wickets each.
In reply, ESU show signs of maturity and they tried to stay on the crease for longer period of time.
Viyananda was the top scorer with 21 from 18 balls.
A sudden batting collapse of ESU in provided a window to SCC for coming back into the match but the small ray of hope was cut short by the sixth wicket partnership of Chitranjan (14) and Herojit (13) and rode home in the 15th over with 5 wickets in hand.
