State Level Archery Competition : SAI RC emerge overall team champion

Imphal, February 01 2016: SAI RC emerged the overall team champion of the State Level Archery Competition which concluded today at Archery Range of 40 Assam Rifles, Keithelmanbi.

The three day competition which began from January 30 was organised by the 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector IGAR South under the aegis of All Manipur Archery Association.

In today's final event of the indian round individual (Girls), P Sonia of Yaiskul Athletic Club clinched a gold medal while S Nirmala of the same club bagged a silver medal and K Puspabati of Friends Archery Club was settled for a bronze medal.

In the indian round individual (Boys) event, Th Langamba and N Arjun of SICA won gold and silver medal respectively while O Prem of BCAC bagged a bronze medal.

In the recurve division individual (Boys) group, A Joychandra, Chui Chui Rongmei and W Leonard of SAI RC won gold, silver and a bronze medal respectively.

In the compound division individual (Boys) category, Sh Ramakanta of SAI RC grabbed a gold medal while M Bikram of YAC and S Rajendro of SAI RC went for silver and bronze medal respectively.

Altogether 52 archers from different units affiliated to the State's association took part in the competition.

The closing function of the competition was attended by Major General VS Sreenivas of IGAR South and Brigadier VT Mathew, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles as presidium members.

They also distributed the medals to individual players and champions trophy to the overall champion SAI RC.

Yaiskul Athletic Club (YAC) bagged the runners up title.
