Imphal, September 22 2013:
Haryana bagged the overall team title of the 32nd National Senior Taekwondo Championship as the three-day meet concluded today at khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.
While Haryana wrested the top honour with 74 points along with claiming the men's team title, Madhya Pra-desh secured the overall team runners-up title with 71 points.
Host Manipur finished third in the men's competition at 35 points, seven less than runners-up SSCB with Ma-dhya Pradesh, Assam and Uttar pradesh emerging as the top three position winners in the women's competition.
CRPF were declared the team with best fighting spirit with the same honour in wo-men's section going to Maha- rashtra.
Uttarakhand men's team was declared the championship's active participants with Kerala eves claiming the same honour.
In all 700 participants from 34 States and Central Government institutions took part at the championship, the closing ceremony of which was held with Manipur DGP MK Das, Taekwondo Federation of India president Harishku-mar (IPS) and Manipur Oly- mpic Association president Bijoy Koijam as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
