29th N Hazari and Dr Tombi State Polo meet: Two close matches, one lop side match mark day

Imphal, January 19 2014 : Of the three matches played today in the ongoing 29th N Hazari and Dr Tombi State Polo Tournament, two matches were fought closely while the third match turned out to be a totally lop sided contest.

In the first match of the day Teckham Polo Club got the better of Imphal Riding Club by a margin of 6 goals to 5 while in the second match, Thangmeiband Youth Club scrapped past Nongchup Pana Asgol Kangjei by a similar margin.

The third match was however a totally different story as Fitness Polo Club thrashed Nambol Mapal Polo Club by a margin of 9 goals to one.

In the first chukker, Imphal Riding Club led by two goals to one, with Ronel and L Romeo scoring for them, while S Ibohal sounded the board for Tekcham.

The team from Tekcham then went ahead by scoring twice in the 2nd chukker through S Dhanshwar and S Bhabananda while Imphal Riding Club drew blank.

The two teams were evenly matched in the 3rd chukker as both teams scored one goal each with the 4th chukker going the same way.

In the second match, the two teams were evenly matched with Thangmeiband Youth Club and Nongchup Pana Sagol Kangjei tied at three goals apiece till the 2nd chukker.

It was in the 3rd chukker that the Thang-meiband team raced ahead, scoring two and conceding none to emerge the winners.
