Ashajit lifts U-12 boys' trophy, Bhicky clinches U-14 title

S Ashajit clinched the U-12 boys singles title while Bhicky Sagolsem emerged champion of U-14 boys singles title of the ongoing 38th State Open Cash Prize Tennis Championship-2018 organized by Manipur Tennis Association at Deco Turf Tennis Court of Officers' Club, Lamphelpat which was underway since September 3 .
A Ashajit outclassed H Shanker 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 in the final match to lift the trophy of the U-12 boys singles competition to lift the trophy while Bhicky Sagolsem clinched U-14 boys singles title beating S Ashajit 6-4, 6-0 .
Men doubles title:
The pair of T Brojen and Rivaskar overcame the duo Premjit and Leenje 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the doubles title.
U-12 girls singles:
Meidingu Ningthemcha Chanu Sanaraima beat Y Thoibi 6-4, 6-2 to clinch the U-12 girls singles title.
U-14 girls singles:
Charmi Nongmaithem outperformed L Linda 6-2, 6-4 to lift the U-14 girls trophy.
Ladies single final:
Bunty Chongtham will face Charmi Nongmaithem in the ladies singles final tomorrow at 8 am.
Men singles semi-final:
T Brojen Singh will take on N Premjit in the first semi-final while Rahul Panmei will face Bhicky Sagolsem in the second semi-final.
Above 45 years Men's Doubles final:
The pair of Tuleshwor and Ibohal will lock horns with the pair of Y Ibotombi and H Ibotombi in the final of the above 45 years men's doubles final.
Earlier, the double partners H Ibotombi and Y Ibotombi beat the duo Ranjan and Prakash 6-1, 4-6 (10-4) in the first semi-final while in the second semi-final, Tuleshwor and Ibohal outlasted Kuber and Jayanta 6-4, 6-2 to enter the finals.
Enroute to semi-final, the pair of Ranian and Prakash outclassed the doubles partner Leishamsana and Aldrin 6-0, 7-6 (4) in the first quarter-final, H Ibotombi and Y Ibotombi beat Rakesh and Rupama 6-2, 7-5 in the second quarter-final while in the third quarter-final, Kuber and Jayanta downed S Sanatomoa and L Sharat 6-8, 2-6, 10-8 and in the fourth quarter-final, the duo Tuleshwor and Ibohal overcame Romeo and Pradeep 6-1, 6-3 to move into the semi-final.
