Iputhou Pureiromba Cup : OFA to meet Young Boys in ultimate clash

Imphal, May 04 2019: OFA, Pungdongbam clinched a 3-1 win against NKFC, Nongada to set up final date of the Iputhou Pureiromba Cup Soccer Tournament jointly organised by Eastern Lion Club, Nongada and Eastern Unique Club, Kameng with Young Boys, Pukhao which reached the final beating Sekta-B by 4-3 goals via penalties after 1-1 draw during normal time yesterday.

In the second semi-final match of the tournament staged today, Milan took the centre stage as he hit the opener in the 22nd minute before sealing the victory for OFA in the 50th minute of the match.

Sova of OFA netted the second goal for the team in the 32nd minute before Rupa of NKFC reduced the margin with a fine goal in the 46th minute.

Yesterday, Young Boys Pukhao broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with the help of Naoba after a barren first half but Robinson of Sekta FC slotted home the equaliser in the 40th minute to give his team some fresh hope.

The two side failed to find the winner during normal time stretching the game to penalty shoot-out to determine the winners.

In the shoot-out, Umakanta Bijen and Ibomcha managed to find the back of the net for the Pukhao side while only Bigyananda and Arjun scored for the Sekta side.
