Imphal, May 02 2016: Red Shield Division busted a weapon forging factory located at Phaijang village, Saparmeina on April 27.The operation was led by Jwalamukhi Battalion under Senapati Bri- gade.

Based on a reliable information regarding existence of weapon forging factory, an operation was launched at Phaijang village which resulted in recovery of forged weapons, warlike stores, weapon forging equipment etc.

The recoveries include two 9 mm pistols, two partially complete pistols (90% com- plete), two magazine frames, one drill machine, two hacksaw blade, 23 alphabet punching tools, two weapon bodies, two barrels, three recoil spring, two 9 mm magazine etc.

The factory was being used extensively for fabricating, assembling, manufacturing and for further supplying to UG groups active in Sadar Hills.

The recoveries have been handed over to police for further investigation, according to a state- ment issued by the PIB, Defence, Imphal.
