Ukhrul, March 17 2015: Bharatiya Janata Party, Ukhrul unit today staged a sit-in protest against centralization of MGNREGS fund and corruption by the Congress Government of Manipur, reports Mungchan Zimik.

A memorandum was also submitted to the Governor of Manipur through the Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul , Modak Hrisheekesh at his office.

A copy of the memorandum was also forwarded to the National Secretary BJP, Manipur in-charge and President Th Chaoba BJP, Manipur Pradesh.

It may be mentioned that in 2013, Hunphun/Ukhrul Tangs Association had also organized a similar public rally against the State Government's policy of Centralization of National flagship programme particularly MGNREGS and demanded that the fund be routed through the district administration, not through Manipur State Rural Development agency(MSSRDA) .
