Chandel, February 01 2016: The 52nd conference cum sports meet 2016 of the Chothe Athourul Ngei Abom (CANA), Manipur - a stu- dents' union of Chothe Tribe was kicked off under the theme "Education-harbinger of Civilization" at Ziontlhang village in Chandel district today, our correspondent reports.

Th Hopeson Chothe, member, ADC, Chandel; Pr Atul, social worker and R Youthson, chief of Ziontlhang village graced the inaugural function as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.

Th Hopeson Chothe Chandel unfurled the flag.

A pop song competition was also held on the first day of the conference cum sports meet.

Besides men's football and volleyball (men and women), debate, traditional attire competition and Miss CANA, 2016 contest will be held during the four-day long program.
